Have you ever received a letter or an email and it felt like a punch in the gut? For the next six weeks at River City Church in Lafayette, Indiana, we’ll be focused on the New Testament book of Galatians. It’s a letter written by the apostle Paul to the churches he had planted in the region of Galatia. He intends for it to be a punch in the gut. It has some of the most frank language in the Bible.
Paul writes the letter in such a candid and aggressive style because he fears that the churches he has planted in Galatia are beginning to abandon the gospel he preached to them in favor of a gospel that is false.
The true gospel of Jesus lays the ground for a boundless freedom that revolutionizes a person’s life. It’s not merely the introduction to a new religion.
