My wife, Tracy Bradford, wrote some great words about Steve Jobs and his passing last night.  I just wanted to share them with you here.  How do these words strike you and your life?

“It’s striking that on a day when protesters against Wall Street are increasing, the world is mourning the loss of a CEO.  I think people look past his CEO status because of his visionary ability.  We are made with an internal sensor for something that is unseen.  When visionaries bring those unseen things into our world, we latch onto them, hoping that more of the unseen will be revealed.  We want to have those unseen things because of the craving for them inside of us.   Of course the products or experiences or ideas that visionaries develop are temporal in the end.  But they still touch our yearning for the truly, as yet, untouchable reality of God and heaven, and all things eternal.  Yes, we will miss Steve Jobs.  No matter how much money he made.  Because he reminded us that there is so much more out there.  Phones that organize your life, talk back to you, and let you see your loved ones who are on the other side of the world?  Believable now, but unheard of 10 years ago.  It baffles us to imagine what else?  And we keep wondering what else because we are wired to ask that.  Visionaries flesh out our hope for unseen things.  And yet what they show us is not the things itself, but the possibilities that don’t seem just impossible, but unknown, unheard of.
