Independence Day Celebration SUCCESS

This past Sunday night’s Independence Day Celebration at First Assembly of God in Lafayette, Indiana was amazing!  Beyond the thousands of people who showed up on our grounds, and the thousands more who crowded into the parking lots and streets around the church (creating the most intense traffic I’ve ever seen in Lafayette), the program, games, huge bouncy castles, fair food, the distribution of a couple thousand church invitations and conversations everywhere,  the goal of giving a warm, welcoming handshake to our community was complete.

I was particularly pleased at the way the team of nearly 200 volunteers worked the event, talked to people, made them feel welcome and did their jobs with enthusiasm.  Above is just one shot of the crowd an hour or so before the fireworks flew.

I’d like to write a special word of thanks to Jamey Young who led the committee who planned and executed the Celebration.  I’m looking forward to seeing how this event can grow in years to come and remain a staple for Lafayette and First Assembly.

Let’s keep up the great work!
