Lafayette, Indiana, April 27, 2020 — As part of Convoy of Hope’s 10 Million Meals Initiative, River City Church & River City Community Center will receive a semi-truck of goods containing food and supplies to be distributed to the general public in response to needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Food, water, nutrition supplements, and other relief materials will be provided to anyone in need on Thursday, April 30, 2020, starting at 4 pm at the River City Community Center located at 2842 Old US 231 S, Lafayette, IN 47909.
The local media is welcome to join us in communicating this to the most vulnerable families in Tippecanoe County and is invited during distribution hours to capture the efforts of volunteers.
Pastor Robby Bradford, lead pastor of River City Church and chairman of the board at River City Community Center says, “We are thrilled to partner once again with Convoy of Hope in serving people in need in our community. We continue to pray and dream about how we can serve people meaningfully at this time.”
This distribution is part of a larger, continuous response to community needs by River City Community Center during the COVID-19 pandemic that includes an expanded food pantry, virtual health fair in partnership with several Purdue University partners, two blood drives, and the creation of a Community Assistance Fund.
