Coronavirus & River City Church

River City Church‘s leadership team met this morning to update plans in light of COVID-19 concerns in our community. Due to the Governor’s announcement and that of the Tippecanoe County Health Department, we are shifting our Sunday ministries to online formats. Rather than be together at our Lafayette or West Lafayette campuses, we will all join together for worship Sunday morning at 9am and 11am online at live.rivercity.info. We will also continue to engage live through our Facebook page. Perhaps you could invite a neighbor or another family over to watch the service and then to share a meal.

At River City Church, we love you and your family. Your well-being and safety matters to us. With that in mind, we encourage you to take precautions to keep yourself and others safe. You can help stop the spread of the virus by following recommended hygiene & social distancing advice. If you are returning from a high-alert area, we urge you to consider refraining from attending church events, including Life Groups, until a 14-day timeframe has been observed.

Life Groups and most other activities will continue. We want you to have confidence when you do visit our Lafayette or West Lafayette Campus, Community Center, Adventure Station or STEAM Academy that we are taking many precautions to protect your health.

1. We have elevated our already excellent cleaning process to sanitize highly touched surfaces such as doors, handles, tables, restrooms, water fountains, and check-in stations on a regular basis. If you’d like to be part of the cleaning team, let us know! We welcome volunteers who can help with this extra effort.

2. Our staff and volunteer teams wash their hands frequently and stay home if they are sick.

3. We have hand sanitizer stations in the lobby and encourage their frequent use.

4. We will continue to thoroughly sanitize all children’s toys and play areas. This is a regular practice at our church.

5. We are encouraging hand waves instead of handshakes.

While we worship online and are together in smaller groups, let’s continue to let God use us in generosity! If you have not yet set up online automated giving, please do so! You can setup one-time and recurring giving at www.rivercity.info/give. If you need assistance setting up online giving or accessing our online services, Pastor Todd can assist you. Feel free to contact him at tyson@rivercity.info. We want to continue to Make Waves in our community, and God uses our giving to do just that. We will continue ministry and reaching out to those in need as the virus affects those in our community. Of course, you can always mail your contributions to 108 Beck Lane, Lafayette, IN 47909 or drop something in the offering box in the lobby. Our office will continue to be open normal hours (9am-4:30pm M-TH).

We believe that God is in control of this crisis and that he holds the answers for everyone that is touched by this. Join us in prayer as we continue to look to God for his help as we face the days ahead! “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust’ (Psalm 91:1-2).
