So what’s the secret to a stronger marriage or a stronger relationship? The key is living a God-first life together with your spouse and those closest to you in your life. Check out the outline below, as well as the message above! Join us on Sundays at First Assembly Community Ministries, through March 5, as we continue this series and learn more about how to get “Better Together”.
BETTER TOGETHER: God-First
(Matthew 6:33) “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
–>God is first, and my spouse is second.
–>I will seek God first while preparing for who is second.
–>I will seek God first with my second.
–> Seeking God together makes it better.
1. Pray together.
(Matthew 18:20) “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”
2. Discuss the Bible together.
(Deuteronomy 6:6-7) “These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
3. Attend church together faithfully.
(Luke 4:16) “He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom.”
(Psalm 127:1) “Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.”
BOTTOM LINE: The number one essential of healthy relationships is living a God-first life.
