God’s not a man and he’s not male.  When God made humankind, he made both male and female in his image.  There’s plenty about “Mother” that reflects what God is like!

Check out this message outline and the video below.

God Made Mom
Genesis 1:26-27  Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
BIG IDEA:  Mothers, made in the image of God, show us what God is like.
3 WAYS MOTHERS REFLECT GOD’S IMAGE
1.     Mothers know.
Matthew 9:4  But Jesus, knowing their thoughts…”
Matthew 12:25 “But Jesus knew their thoughts…”
Luke 5:22  “But when Jesus perceived their thoughts …”
Luke 6:8   “But He knew their thoughts…”
Luke 11:17  But He, knowing their thoughts…”
2.     Mothers care.
Luke 7:12-15  And when He came near the gate of the city, behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the city was with her. 13 When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, ‘Do not weep.’ 14 Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, ‘Young man, I say to you, arise.’ 15 So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother.”
Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!”
Isaiah 66:13 “As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; and you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.”
3.     Mothers help.
1 Thessalonians 2:7 “But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children.”
Matthew 12:20 “A bruised reed He will not break, and smoking flax He will not quench, till He sends forth justice to victory…”
Psalm 113:9  He grants the barren woman a home, like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!”
