SEASONS–Spring 2016 Series

The Bible begins with seasons.  God creates them in the first chapter of Genesis.  The cycle that unfolds based on the seasons fill the rest of the Bible in many different ways.  And in particular, four seasons related to growth emerge: plowing, planting, watering and harvesting.

So it is with nearly everything that God does, whether corporately (in the life of a church) or individually.  God takes us through seasons that are necessary in order for us to see a harvest–the word that the scriptures use to describe God’s redemptive outcomes.

I love Paul’s words about the seasons found in 1 Corinthians 3:6–“I planted, Apollos watered, but God made it grow.”  I think it’s an amazing truth to dwell on–when we grow, that is God’s work.

So, from April 24, 2016 until May 22, 2016, we’ll be exploring these four seasons and how they relate to us as individual followers of Jesus and to our church and where we are headed in God’s excellent plans.

Below you’ll see the scriptures I’ll focus on, as well as the dates of the messages.  God’s taking us somewhere together!  What season is it in your life?
