We’ve come to the end of a great series on living a life that is focused on us being effective witnesses for Christ.

This week, I talked in length about prayer and why it’s so important to keep on praying for those who are distant from God. Check out the outline and the video below.  It was a powerful day, and the message challenged many!

Don’t miss the video testimony of a story that has recently happened in someone’s life at First Assembly Community Ministries!

LIFE ON MISSION—Prayer

BIG IDEA:  Praying releases power to movecircumstances and people.

PRAYER=POWER
God deposits power through the Holy Spirit in the believer.

Luke 24:49  Behold I send the promise of my Father upon you, but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you receive power from on high.”

Acts 1:8  “You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”

Ephesians 3:20  “Now to him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we could ask or think according to the power that works in us.”

PRAYER=RELEASE
Prayer is a means of releasingGod’s power.

Daniel 10:2-3, 12-13  At that time I, Daniel, mourned for three weeks. I ate no choice food; no meat or wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks were over… 12 ‘Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. 13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.’”

PRAYER+FIRE
God adds his fireto our prayers.

Revelation 5:8  And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.”

Revelation 8:1-5  When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before God from the angel’s hand. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.”

ACTION:  Take a strong, regular and expectant standin prayer for those who you are giving a strong witness.
