OK, so your purpose in life as a follower of Jesus is to tell others about Jesus and bring people to him. However, if you’re going to accomplish that goal and live up to your purpose, you’re going to need to connect with people who don’t believe what you do.  That can be a little messy, and that can be uncomfortable.  But that’s what Jesus did.

Learn more here from the outline and the video of the service as I unpack what it means to take the first step toward a Life on Mission–connect.

LIFE ON MISSION—Connect
Luke 5:27-3227 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. ‘Follow me,’ Jesus said to him, 28 and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. 29 Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. 30 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, ‘Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?’ 31 Jesus answered them, ‘It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.’”
Big Idea:  In order to be a witness to people, you’ve got to connect with them.
GO
In order to connect with others, you need to go where they are.
Matthew 28:19-2019 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
THIS ISN’T A CHURCH LOBBY
Connection will require relatingover things that are not religious.
LIVE IN THE WORLD
Connection may mean you are uncomfortable.

ACTION:  Write down the names of those who are in your neighborhood or office and pray for them, asking and seizing opportunities to connect.
