WOW!  A lot is happening at First Assembly this December!  That’s because this is a natural window in our culture for reaching out to people with the good news of Jesus Christ!  Between the music, the powerful Christmas story and fun festivities, December is a great time of celebration and reaching new people in our community.

Because there is so much going on, I wanted to be sure you knew what was happening and what opportunities there are to celebrate and to serve!

Below you will find list, like the one in the picture here, as well as ways to connect with the event.

12/6            Hanging of the Greens
We’re decorating the church and our grounds.  If you’d still like to help with that, there are a number of projects outside that still need some attention.  If you’d like to be a part of that, please contact the church office at 765.474.1432 or click here to send an email as soon as possible.

12/7-12/28 Christmas Post Office
This fun and free service is a way for you to deliver and receive Christmas cards at First Assembly. The Post Office is open in our lobby on Sunday mornings.  If you’re interested in volunteering in the Post Office, contact our children’s ministries’ office by clicking here.

12/11         Jingle Jam Pep Rally
This is our time, starting at 6:30PM, to organize all those who will be serving in the Jingle Jam Family Christmas Show happening in on the second weekend of December.  If you’re a performer, a greeter, a technical person–whatever–be there for this fun and informative evening that will help us all be on the same page when thousands of people come to what has become a Lafayette tradition in our Jingle Jam.

12/13        Christmas for Kids
This event reaches out to children who wouldn’t have Christmas gifts otherwise.  If you are interested in serving or giving toward this annual tradition, taking place between 7AM and Noon, contact the children’s ministries’ office by clicking here.

12/13         Jingle Jam
These shows, happening at 4:30 & 6:30PM, are filled with fun, laughter and the sharing of Christmas joy for the whole family.  We’re expecting packed-out shows, so please be sure to learn more (including how to get your free tickets) by clicking here. Invite all your friends, family and neighbors!  It’s a great time!

12/14         Kids’ Christmas Sing
Sunday’s worship services will be touched by our children singing, as they do annually on this Sunday.  Our Sunday worship services happen at 9 and 11AM.  If you are interested in serving in children’s ministries that day, you can contact their office by clicking here.

12/18         Adventure Station Christmas
Our daycare will be celebrating Christmas with song, carols, and a Christmas message from me. This time together will happen at 6:30 and will involve hundreds of family members who will be present to take in the presentations from our nearly 200 children who are a part of Adventure Station.  To learn more about Adventure Station, contact them at 765.474.KIDS.  Their website can also be found here.

12/21          Christmas Sunday
Our Sunday morning services at 9 & 11 will feature wonderful Christmas music and a Christmas message that is a part of the “Unexpected” series.  The Sunday services before Christmas continues to grow in attendance and in excellence each year.  Bring your friends and family for a Christmas experience of worship, celebration and spiritual renewal.

12/24           Christmas Eve Services
These hour-long celebrations involve plenty of candle light, great Christmas music, traditional carols and a message to wrap up our “Unexpected” series.  Invite family and friends for the kind of Christmas celebration that has become a high point for us during the year.

I’m looking forward to what will be unfolding in the next few weeks!  Learn more about First Assembly Community Ministries by clicking through to their website here.  You can also reach us by email by clicking here or by phone at (765) 586.6888 with any questions you may have.
