This month’s “Volunteer of the Month” at First Assembly Community Ministries is shared by an international group of five young ladies who serve like champions among our children.  Recommended by Angela Patterson, Associate Early Childhood Ministries Director, you’ll see why they deserve this honor!

I want to congratulate these ladies for their excellent work and contagious enthusiasm in all they do.  They are a blessing to me and to all parents with children under their care!

Below are some responses from them about their ministry here at First Assembly!

How did you get involved and for how long?

We have been serving for almost a year now. We got involved when a church member suggested that we work with the children’s ministry.

Why do you serve?
We serve because Jesus says in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.  In our quest to become more like Jesus,  we thought it best to donate our time in service to the church.

Why should others serve?
We believe others should serve because there is a type of fulfillment that comes from helping others and purposefully using the gifts God has given you to do so. Not only that, but it also makes us feel more connected to our church community.

What is the best part?
The best part is knowing that we’ve served and also seeing the children’s faces every week!
Have you seen any kids transformed?

We love that we get to see our children grow up, even though they do leave us and move on to another class. We see our infants learn to walk, our toddlers learn to talk and the older children learn to remember their memory verse and begin their journey through the Bible.

Many thanks to these ladies who represent the many internationals in our congregation well!  Their attitude, motivation and heart for God is pushing our ministries to children to new heights!  If you’re interested in being a part of any of the thriving teams who minister to children at First Assembly, please contact Lisa Glaser, Children’s Ministries Director, by clicking here or call her at the church office at (765)474.1432!
