On Sunday evening, May 19 at 6PM, we’ll be offering a two-hour focus on the infilling of the Holy Spirit. I’ve not been at First Assembly long enough to know if anything like this has been done here, but I can say I’ve never seen a church offer this kind of experience to help their people grow in their experience of the Holy Spirit in quite this way.

We’ll be taking in two video teachings from the Alpha curriculum that we use here at our church.  We’ll also have some dessert and discussion time.  The talks are called “Who is the Holy Spirit and What Does He Do?” and “How to be Filled with the Holy Spirit”.  The evening will end with a time of worship and a time to receive prayer and seek for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as described in the New Testament.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s message, water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism are the chief ways that God identifies his people in the New Testament.  If you’ve never experienced the Holy Spirit in this way or have questions about who he is or what he does, please make plans to join us.  I know I’ve already heard from believers who experienced Spirit infilling decades ago who plan to be there to open their hearts to Him.

See you there!
