The next 4 Sundays at First Assembly of God Words from God will be our theme.  This series of messages will focus on the central role of the Bible in the life of the believer.  We’ll explore not only the power of the scriptures to bring us to saving faith, but will also delve into questions about the credibility of God’s Word.

As part of the series, we’re asking our entire congregation to embark on the task memorizing four passages of scripture (one each week) and having them quote them at “Quotation Stations”, receive a prize, get your “Word for Today” card stamped and, if you memorize and quote all four of the scriptures perfectly, you’ll be entered in the drawing for the grand prize and receive a larger “Pay Day” candy bar!  Adults, youth and children will all be focused on memorizing the same passages.  The verses to be memorized are the following:  Matthew 4:4 on the 7th, Ephesians 6:16-17 on the 14th; Psalm 1:1-3 on August 21; and Hebrews 4:12 August 28.

The reason for all this focus is that the Bible is really the primary tool God uses to bring us to saving faith and to develop our character.  I’m looking forward to the coming month!  Below is a list of the dates and themes for each Sunday.
