What a fantastic weekend at First Assembly here in Lafayette, Indiana! I thought I would quickly post here the results of the child sponsorship campaign that took place here this weekend in our Sunday worship services.

87 children were sponsored! This is in addition to the dozens of children that are already faithfully sponsored by people in our church who picked up Mission of Mercy’s vision years ago. If you think you’d like to help more children in this way, click here for more info!
In addition to this good news, I came to understand that all our gifts to Mission of Mercy come through Assemblies of God World Missions (AGWM), adding to the giving credit our church receives. That’s helpful, as it helps us know more precisely what we’re giving to missions as a church.
I just received a piece of paper the other day that showed that our total gifts as a church to AGWM equaled $309,000 in 2010! That’s wonderful news and proof that we have far to go still toward our potential in impacting God’s mission in the world.
April 6-10 will mark our Missions Emphasis for spring 2010. I’m looking forward to seeing all that God has in store for us as a church as we work together giving, praying, serving and going to fulfill the command of Jesus to take the Good News to every creature!
