These words spoken by Jesus to the devil during his time of testing in the wilderness get to the heart of where we are going collectively in the fast.  In essence, by giving up food and other things during this fast, we are saying to God, “Nothing else will satisfy what I need.”

I encourage you today to find time alone with God where you can express a solitary resolve to God that you need to hear from him more than anything else in your life.  May God’s voice speak more and more clearly to you during this time of prayer and fasting.
