John’s unforgettable narrative of Lazarus’ death and resurrection is one of the most illustrations of the power of the spoken words of Jesus. So perfectly aligned and matched with God’s will, Jesus knew already that the miracle he wanted to see happen was about to take place and so he spoke it into being.
Fasting and prayer is about becoming increasingly dependent on and in step with God’s will. As you continue to follow hard after God during these days of increased vigilance in seeking God, the words that come out of your mouth should be increasingly reflective of the patient, encouraging, and faith-filled character of Jesus.
May God grant you this day a growing awareness all you need to accomplish his will and a growing capacity to see with eyes of faith what he wants to accomplish in the world around you.
